We were one of the first Schools for Parents in the U.K. to open. We maintain a local and convenient alternative to travelling to London or Hungary in order to learn about the practice of Andras Peto, as in the past a great deal of parents, anxious to give their children the best start in life, had felt compelled to do.

Our mission statement is “Learning for Life” and after its establishment in 1991 the dedicated and professional staff at The Centre, now based in a purpose built and extremely well equipped building in Rochester, have continued to provide a high quality service for parents and physically disabled children in Kent to this end.


Our Aim

• To establish a creative partnership of child, parent and professional;

• To provide the child and parents with access to a broad and balanced pre-school education, leading toward integration into normal life in the community;

• To facilitate the success of the child in community life through the achievement of daily tasks that are essential to the growth of motor, cognitive, social and communication skills;

• To enable parents to take a positive view of their child, to value their uniqueness and to recognise and work with their potential;

• To motivate the child toward problem solving strategies which will enable him/her to face the opportunities and challenges of daily living;

• To support families through the provision of parent training which will enable them to independently support their child at home;

• To establish and maintain links with regional and local statutory bodies and voluntary provision in Health, Education and Social Services.
