In addition to acting as a social club, the Day Centre also enables our members to indulge their love of art, computers, woodwork, cards, dominoes, embroidery and board games. The Day Centre members also contribute to CPC's educational work with disabled children and adults.

In recent years, our members have provided a wide variety of gifts and decorations for fundraising events including paintings, models and a patchwork quilt for our charity auctions. The occasional day outings to coastal resorts such as Whitstable and Leysdown also provide a welcome break from the immediate community.

Who would use the Day Centre?

The CPC Day Centre is open to disabled people aged over 30 (subject to assessment), on Monday's and Wednesday's (between 10am and 3pm). The Centre provides a welcome break from the confines of home, where members can meet regularly for something as simple as a chat over a cup of tea

The Day Centre is a venue where members can indulge their love of art, woodwork, cards, embroidery and board games. They also contribute to CPC’s work with disabled children and adults by donating a variety of gifts and decorations for fundraising events: paintings, models and a patchwork quilt for the Grand Auction. We are now including hairdressing, guest speakers, quizzes and exercise classes.

The team is managed by Marion Aldridge and consists of Lorraine Ambrose (Co-ordinator) and other assistants. Members of the staff team have also volunteered their services at numerous CPC fundraising events.

The occasional day outings to coastal resorts such as Whitstable and Leysdown, also provide a welcome break from the immediate community. The Day Centre adds an extra dimension to CPC’s work with older clients, by providing them with companionship, opportunities for recreation, as well as meeting their care and support needs.

We provide Transport for those who may need it, subject to availability.

People over the age of 30 are welcome to join the CPC Day Centre subject to our assessment.

The cost of a full privately funded day session at the Day Centre is £25.00.

Our clients are also referred from social services and care managers.
